LRG Complete 2.5.6 released!!

LRGComplete2.5.6

We are happy to annouce the release of the latest release of the LRG Complete template, LRG COMPLETE 2.5.6, it includes all the latest bug fixes, revisions, user suggested items, and new features as posted in the forums and via email.

Please delete any previous versions of this template and install this version. You need to update ALL template files, not just some of them.

NOTE: Full documentation for this release is coming soon! The majority of stuff is the same, but there are some things you need to know to get it working correctly. I will point out the changes below. We will make a posting when the updated documentation is released, but for now see the instructions below

=============UPDATED TEMPLATE INSTRUCTIONS================

The first major thing we need to go over is the upload paths for galleries and pages. Previously, galleries were uploaded into the same folder that your shell files lived, for example:
ROOT
Category1
-Gallery1
All shell template files located in the root

In this new version all galleries are uploaded in a folder named “galleries” (all lower case) in your root folder or any subfolder you are installing LRG Complete in. This is the same as how you upload pages, which all go in a “pages” folder.

So In a complete installation on your web server, with galleries and pages, your folder structure should look sort of like this:
ROOT
galleries
-Category1
-Gallery1
pages
-aboutus
All shell template files located in the root.

When uploading galleries your “put in subfolder” field within Lightroom should look like this:
galleries/category1/gallery1

For pages:
pages/aboutus

To create a gallery index, an gallery of thumbnails that link to other galleries, you need to use the Gallery template and follow all the uploading rules for galleries. The only difference really is that the links for each image MUST be defined in the IPTC metadata field “Provider”. You can find that IPTC metadata field under the “Instructions” field when viewing the images metadata.

You can link each image to another gallery or a page. To do that we need to enter our links in the “Provider” field using the following linking conventions.

To link an image to another gallery you follow this convention:
(gallery) followed by a dash (-) followed by the Category the gallery is in (Category_Name) followed by a forward slash (/) followed by the name of the gallery you are linking to (Gallery_Name).

The result is something like this:
gallery-Category_Name/Gallery_Name

*The word “gallery” that goes before the dash tells the template that everything following the dash will be a path to the gallery you want to load. You must use the word “gallery” and the dash as is, do not modify it.

To link an image to a page you follow this convention:
(page) followed by a dash (-) followed by the page name (About_Us) of the page you are linking to.

The result is something like this:
page-About_Us

*The word “page” that goes before the dash tells the template that everything following the dash will be a path to the page you want to load. You must use the word “page” and the dash as is, do not modify it.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: If you enter something into the “Provider” field for the image, the template will attempt to link that thumbnail to something other then a larger version of the image. After you are done creating the Gallery Index i would highly recommend deleting and “Provider” metadata for your images.

This covers the major instructions that are needed to get this new version of the template working. More detailed instruction will be in the latested version of the manual, which will be released soon. You can allow post in the forum and i will help you out. David at http://www.outdoorimages.blogspot.com has been kind enough to write up an amazing manual for this template. As soon as he gets a bit of free time he will update the manual to cover the new features in 2.5.6. Please be patient and give David a big thanks for all his hard work! Thanks David!

hi , i want to ask , about this new release , the background is black right ? can i change the black color into jpeg picture ?

and is there anyway or guide to save the preset for each page in adobe lightroom like this what i mean : index page preset , galleries page preset , contact page preset, about page preset , slideshow page preset ? and all the preset i can save it and if i want to work in my other computer that has a same version of LRG n adobe lightroom i can load the all preset in my other computer . ?

Thanks for that update! Hope the manual will be updated too though! I am a bit confused with creating a gallery index.

jliverty,
yes you can change the background image to whatever you want. have a look at the manual for more instructions on that.

I like to thank Joe and David for all their hard work. You have given the power to the photographer. I know i’m only suppose to report bugs, but I wanted to thank you again.

Ricardo

Is this still a Release Candidate 2.5.6 or production release?

Is there a way to remove the Horz devider in the pages when the slide show option is seleceted. So all we see is just the slide show no word no bar. Would nice

Never mind figured it out…

Ricardo,
i just made this an option in the upcoming version. i think i may release it later tonight

Oh great. One other thing is there a way that at the end of the index slide show example: http://www.holm4sale.com
To then go to main website. What i did is like an intro nice and clean. Does this make sence?

Just downloaded the latest update. I am new to this product and fairly new to light room. I copied what I thought were necessary files, but I could not find the seemingly required lrtemplate file to import. Am I doing something wrong? How do I get the templates installed?

Thanks.

Great work!!! but anybody knows why the gallery isn´t vertically centered in the new version? Or did I miss some settings? For example centered: http://www.dominik-moser.de/LRG/shell_/
not centerd:
http://www.dominik-moser.de/LRG/shell/

Didn`t found anything in the forum…

Thanks!

sorry, i forgot something:
the centered version is 2.5.5, the non-centerd 2.5.6….

Thanks!
And once again: really great great work!

Ricardo,
There is no way at the moment for you to be redirected after the slideshow ends.

Daniel,
Please download the manual for the template. all instructions are in there.

Modo,
Try downloading the template again, delete the old version. i made an update to it shortly after the release and you might still have the first version. redownload and try again

Kind of a novice question: once I export the LRG Shell to my hard drive, how do I import it back into Lightroom to continue working on it?

Best Regards

I seem to have a problem putting a LRG file within a dreamweaver template. Is there a code that I need to insert to make it work? Really frustrated because I just can’t figure it out.

Thanks in advance

Lori,
what exactly are you trying to do? you can’t really edit the templates in dreamweaver except for the index.html page for the shell template
