This looks phenominal!! I’m just going through all the options and settings now, but I’ll post a link to a working gallery when I post one.
From what I’ve seen so far this is great work!
Justin
Just installed the RC1 version and I must say things really are looking slick!
There’s one major problem though that I’ve been having since one of the early betas that still exists in RC1; the category menu fails to open properly. Only one ‘category’ block is visible but doesn’t have a name displayed. When I click on it to see the individual galleries, it will not open (it seems to start to open by moving down 1 pixel but then stops!).
Obviously other people do not have this problem or there’d be lots of comments on here, so I guess this is particular to my setup. All the files seem to be in the right place (installed in a subdirectory off my wwwroot and I’ve tried accessing with Firefox and IE. I have the original LRG installed on my website and running the beta in a test directory… I doubt this would have any affect, but I don’t want to bring down my ‘live’ site to try.
Any suggestions?
I can’t use the contactform.
My website provider sais the following:
“I can no longer send e-mail
Recently block some Internet Providers including KPN, Planet and HetNet, external SMTP. This means that you no longer can use our outgoing e-mail (SMTP) server. Right now you probably ‘mail.uwdomein.nl “in your e-mail program set as outgoing e-mail server. This should, however, you have to change to the SMTP server of your Internet Provider. Also, it is no longer possible to ‘My server requires authentication “. When you turned on in your e-mail you’ll get a popup asking for a network to give up.
For KPN is this: mail.direct-adsl.nl
For Planet is this: mail.planet.nl
For HetNet is this: mailhost.hetnet.nl
By default, these providers in the outgoing (SMTP) e-mailserverpoort 25.
A complete list of SMTP servers of all Internet Providers can be found here: http://sohosted.com/helpdesk/?id=179
Keep in mind that ‘My server requires authentication’ off should stand when you e-mail via your Internet Provider. The incoming mail server (POP3) remains just the same. Alternatively, you simply SoHosted domain continue to use e-mail. The only thing that changes is that you no longer our server via e-mail.”
Can there be a option for an other ourgoint smtp server? I think that there is a problem.
KPN is THE provider for internet in The Netherlands, Hetnet and Planet are parts of it (brands).
Can this be made?
Simon,
I have the same issue you in both IE v6 and Firefox, and was ripping my hair out earlier to troubleshoot.
There was a previous post that indicated a workaround whereby you comment out the second line in the “menuxml.php” file that is in the root of the index directory.
Here is a the line :
// header(”Content-type: text/xml”);
the double slash marks comments out the line
Once this has been saved and reposted to the folder the index and galleries work fine.
I’m having the same problem as Simon. I re-downloaded/installed the template into lightroom and just used all the default settings. My category/gallery doesn’t show up in the menu on the left and I get a “loading site” message in the center of the screen.
My directory structure is as follows:
proofs/clientproofs/ally08 where the proofs directory is where i uploaded the index template.
Here is the test that isn’t working: http://www.1kphoto.com/proofs
Also, I’m not quite clear on how to pull up the WYSIWYG editor.
Thanks for the help,
Justin
electricspaghetti,
this is very interesting. has this been an issue in the previous releases? seems to be working fine for me. i’ll have a look aorund the code.
Justin,
what happens if you comment out or delete the line: header(”Content-type: text/xml”);
Does that fix it?
for the WYSIWYG editor you just need to enter an access password when you upload the template. then you just go to your site, navigate to the page you want to edit and then at anytime just start typing your password with the keyboard. the editor should then come up. make sure your browser is the window in focus and selected. If the editor does not come up try again but type your password a little slower
Justin- & owner,
I had the same problem. REPLACED the first line of menuxml.php with
<?
instead of <?PHP
Left header(”Content… alone.
Seems to be working. bejesus.
I am finally able to get the pages and galleries linked up and I am starting to get somewhere. I can not seem to get the WYSIWYG editor to appear as you have in the demo. I modified the pageContent.xml in notepad according to the instructions as well as set the permissions to 777 on the content.xml file. Once I modify the pageContent.xml file, the photo and text disappear from the page and can not access the editor. What am I doing wrong?
when using flat shipping rate, it will not pass this info onto paypal so no shipping is added. am i missing something?
master creations,
I just did a test and it worked fine. make sure you check the checkbox next to “use flat rate shipping?” and make sure you enter in a cost (no dollar sign)
Daren,
Very stange, this was working correctly before. I was able to duplicate your error except i was able to see the text, just not the image. i will look into it.
Daren,
I found the problem. Somehow a change i made did not save i guess. i made the change and repackaged the templates. please download the template again from the link on the main page and replace your old previous files.
i can see that it adds shipping in the cart but it is still not passing the info onto paypal. isn’t too big a deal….i can always have paypal add shipping since it is a flat fee. you can see my demo gallery at http://mastercreationsphoto.com/test6/
Master,
just tested again, seems to work fine. did you download the latest version? download the template again right now (its been updated since i released), delete your previous version, and reinstall RC1. let me know how that works out for you.
Master,
just checked your link…do you have paypal options set to override any other shipping options? double check that as well
that could be the problem. will check in the morning. thanks for the help. great work on this project. i hope to be able to replace my current galleries with LRG.
I am having a problem with the paypal feature. If I check the checkbox next to “use flat rate” and then during checkout, choose local pickup [ie. no shipping charges], the shipping/handling is still added to the total bill sent to paypal.
I’m also having an issue with the contact page. I cannot get past “You need to update your flash player”.
I had to comment out the // header(”Content-type: text/xml”); section same as electricspaghetti.
Linux hosting by godaddy.com using PHP5
WIN XP SP2 + all critical patches
IE6 + adobe flash 9.0.124.0
safari 3.1 + adobe flash 9.0.124.0
Thanks for a great Lightroom template. I found your site a few days ago and it looks like you are close to an initial release.
Still can’t change the identity plate. Not matter what I try to do it defaults back.
Also, did you get a chance to check out http://corp.digibug.com/content/view/22/39/
Let me know if this is possible. I tried to enter the code examply on the other post but I think it screwed up the page =-( my bad.
Bryan
rlray64,
I will have a look at the shipping issue you are having, i think its just a matter of making local pickup values take priority over flat rate shipping. i can fix this no problem. how are you trying to view the contact page? you must view it through the index page only, you cant go directly to the page itself. I have a feeling you are trying to go to yourdomain.com/pages/contact/. The pages dont work as standalone pages.
Bryan,
does the id plate turn out correctly when you publish or export the gallery or is it only within lightroom that it still shows the old plate. i have seen this issue before and was not able to do anything to fix it. im thinking its more of a lightroom issue. everything worked properly when exported, uploaded, or published.
digibug looks like its something that i can easily integrate. i will do a little more research on it.
well, I don’t know that. I just went through and changed all that freaking pink color and customized it then clicked on library to find another photo and when I came back to the web module all my changes were gone. Is there a reason why it does that?
I exported the default index page as is and worked, so yeah its just in lightroom.
I’ve been using digibug for a few weeks now and its really awesome. They are really fast getting photos out and have tons of options available. I do alot of event stuff and this gallery + digibug would allow me to get all my event photos online and ready for purchase 10 times faster.
I just started playing with the new template. For the life of me I can’t seem to find a way to change the background color (from that light grey) for the Pages or Gallery templates.
well the problem still on this template RC1 … the page cannot load even i already make like this ” pages/aboutus ” as
label ” about us ” , and URL : aboutus , but still when i load it cannot see anything ..
and about gallery ,,, why in LRG version 1.1.1 when i make folder ” LANDSCAPE ” n when i check in localserver the website automatically make landscape into a category but when i use LRG version 2 , when i make category folder name ” LANDSCAPE ” it won’t appear anything in the bar
@ lightroomgalleries ,
maybe you can check again what’s the specific problem on my website when using you ” LRG Complete RC1 available for download! ” and maybe you can help me out ,,, maybe sort of people is having the same problem too like mine
this is the link to my website :
http://jlivertygalleries.fastive.com/
and this is link ,some picture for the structure of my site in the ftp server that direct to( http://jlivertygalleries.fastive.com/ ) :

Commenting out the header line did the trick!
Couple of questions…
When a user places an order is there/can there be an option to have them pay when picking up (with a check)?
Also, when a user places an order what type of notification will I receive so that I can fulfill the order?
Once again: GREAT WORK!! This is the EXACT solution I have been scouring the internet for!
Justin
can’t get the pull out menu to function correctly. The default loads correctly and the menu shows the right information but when i click on the gallery from the pull out menu, nothing loads. I tried the changes listed above to the menuxml file to no avail. You can see a test gallery at http://mastercreationsphoto.com/test8/ Any ideas?
Hello Lightroomgalleries,
Is there a reason that I get no reply to my suggestions?
Maybe it is possible that I have a bad word choice, but my English is not as best as I thought. I have no negative intentions, I noticed that there were no replies to my messages.
Please, allow me to know what the problem is.
Greatz Mark
Bryan,
I think the best thing to do would be to make a preset of the template once you change all the colors and stuff, then you want have to do it everytime. Also, another thing you can do it to export each gallery with the colors you want, then go in the folder you exported to and open up the correct xml file (example- index xml file is shellData.xml). In that xml file you will see all the values for the colors you have chosen. You can go go into the template folder itself in lightroom and open up the galleryMaker.xml file. You will see the same color options in that file under mx:Model id=”metadata”. Those are the default colors for the template. You can change the values in galleryMaker.xml to the same thing as your exported template, and that way everytime you select the template in lightroom it will default to the colors you entered. Its a little more work then saving a preset, but i think it better. Im not sure what LR sometimes loses the colors and sometimes saves them.
Do i need an account to test with digibug? i can create a custom template for you which uses it, but i’ll need to be able to test. i’ll check the site again to see how it really works
David,
are you talking about the radial gradient or actual page background? For the radial gradient thats gray you need to change the “Center Color” option in the index template. the page and gallery templates have a transparent background so whatever bg colors you see are from the index template
jliverty,
First lets try this…Download menuxml.php from your website and open it up.
find:
header(”Content-type: text/xml”);
and replace it with:
//header(”Content-type: text/xml”);
Notice the 2 “//” before the line. Give that a try and see if the menu works correctly. It looks like you have the “aboutus” page set up correctly. Maybe you can send me ftp info and i can look at it for you.
Justin,
There is no option for “pay offline”. This is something i can add, but im not sure the best way for it to function. Paypal sends you an email when something is ordered. I can also add in a feature where the site/template itself sends out an email as well.
ahhhhhhh, sorry ,, i wasn’t see ,,, i already make the correction with ” // ” and it work ,,,, wow …. thx .. by the way may i know ,,, what is wrong with it until it cannot load a category in the black bar ?
Okay. Now the galleries are working, but when I add a page it doesn’t load.
The I’ve called the page instructions and uploaded it to: pages/instructions
I’ve set the menu item in the index to pages/instructions
I’ve tried with the default page line blank as well as with pages/instructions and pages/instructions/, but the site gives me a “loading site” message. Here is a test: http://www.1kphoto.com/proofs
Justin
and how about the contact page ? why i cannot load them to the webpage when i clicked on contact button on my webpage ? when i clicked ” contact ” it loading , and the loading bar complete n disappear and just blank ,,, no table form to be can fill … what’s the matter ? in your previous version it’s the same too … i cannot using the contact form too ,,,, it just blank after the loading bar is complete ..
Theloosen,
You were having the email issue correct? Well the template uses PHP to send email out. its a built in function of php and does not require any SMTP information so you should have no problem. Have you downloaded the latest RC1 template? please download it again, i updated the mail feature for the contact form. give it a try and see if that works. What were your other questions?
after more testing, i got it to work on another server with the same setup that wouldn’t work before. I did have to comment out the header(”Content-type: text/xml”); line but that was the only chaange. Any idea why it would not work on my Aplus server but would work on a GoDaddy server?
Justin,
Check that you have chosen “page” as the link type. im looking at whats being called in on your template and when i click instructions the template tries to call in “proofs/pages/instructions/gallery.swf” it should be calling in “proofs/pages/instructions/page.swf”
can you double check the link target you have set
master c,
It may have to do with the PHP version thats running or the php tags settings. for some the < ?php tags work and others need to change them to just
my site runs everything fine without having to comment that line out, but some need to. im not sure why but im trying to find that out.
Ihave the same problem

Joe,
I now understand my contact page problem. I created the folder in the wrong directory and as you expected, I was attempting to point directly to the folder. I also needed to change pageContent.xml to pageContent.php and edit the first line (as stated in your documents) under every new page folder directory. The information below may help someone else understand the page template functions:
My directory structure
WEBROOT/pages/ (folder1)
WEBROOT/pages/ (folder2)
When I create a link using the INDEX template, I insert “folder1″ and set it’s type as PAGE.
—–
I agree with Justin - I would also like a “pay offline” feature implemented in a future update.
Possible BUGS
1 - On the INDEX template, when I save a User Template after filling in all of my data, the “BACK BUTTON URL” information is not stored. When I go to other templates and later return to the INDEX template and click my user template settings, the BACK BUTTON URL reverts to http://www.mydomain.com
2 - In my galleries when I am viewing a single photo, I can RIGHT-CLICK and PRINT. This option is disabled in your DEMO pages.
3 - The contact form does not send the entered phone number in the email
Also, after sending the email, I get an “Unknown Error” displayed under the form buttons. I am not sure how to troubleshoot this error.
would it be possible to modify the menuxml to look for galleries located on a different server? ie..index on server A and galleries on server B. I host my current galleries on a local server and link to them from my main offsite server.
also, where is the documentation for changing the order of the galleries?
Digibug does require an account to use. Its free to sign up for one and it doesn’t take very long. So if you wanted to create a dummy account to test it then it should be fairly easy.
Also, I came across a company called smugmug and they actually have a lightroom plug-in where you can export straight from LR to their only gallery. They have a sweet interface too. The only problem is it costs $149 a year. They are offering free lifetime pro-accounts to API developers so my web developer is contacting them about getting that You could probably contact them as well and discuss options for lightroom gallery intergrations.
Here’s a sample site we set up:
http://spencerwyatt.smugmug.com/ABJ%20Spring%20Recitals
Their current API is really good and I’ve researched their print quality and found only good reviews.
Thanks for the input on the nameplate.
Bryan
I did have the link type set to gallery, but I have changed it to page. It still doesn’t work. Here is what I have tested…
1- change menu item1 to the page type. url-pages/instructions Result: the site hung with no menu bar at the right
2- removed default page location (was pages/instructions with a link type of page) - Result: site and menu bar loads, but the instructions link still doesn’t work.
3 - deleted everything and re-uploaded the whole shebang with nothing in the menu item areas. Result - works, but I’d like to add the pages.
4 - added pages/instructions to menu item 1 and a link to my blog in menu item 2. added pages/newtest to menu item3. The blog link works, but the other links don’t.
Justin
I see there is a Forum thread now
Let’s dump our messages in http://lightroomgalleries.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=25
ok thx rlray64 , i already did that … but why contact menu won’t appear in the webpage ? i put contact folder into “pages” subfolder that contain “aboutus” as a page folder ,,, but why when i loading a contact in “contact” button in my webpage ,, only a background wallpaper webpage only show off ? no border frame of table , ..
master c,
no its not possible at this time to call from different locations. i could change the code to allow that but dont see a need.
The ordering information is in the documentation. Under the gallery template section. basically just put a number before the category and gallery name. so 001-landscapes/001-beach. the number in the front is what orders the galleries and categories.
Theloosen,
I uploaded the demo from my site to your site and it works perfectly. so there is nothing wrong with your server or anything. It must be the way you had the templates setup, although everything looked correct and i didnt see a problem. maybe just start from scratch and try starting over with the latest version of the template. Just double check the documentation as well. Like i said, it looked like you did everything right.
Justin,
ok i think i may know whats going with pages. you must rename pageContent.xml to pageContent.php. I changed the code in the template so that the pages only call pageContent.php when they are uploade to the server. so if you have pageContent.xml the page wont load correctly. give that a shot. just rename it
I changed the pageContent.xml to pageContent.php in the directory of the page (pages/contact/pageContent.php) and I still get the same result. There is a content.xml in the same directory - do I need to modify that?
I modified the files via ftp - should I have modified the file in the template files and re-uploaded?
Joe,
Ok I have a basic site working as far as the navigation and the editor works perfectly. Thank you for all of your help. http://www.darensaunders.com/demo
When I set up the Default Path section, it loads to show the gallery menu, but does not show the thumbs of the gallery I specify. Can this be done? I want the specified gallery “Favorites” in the Default Path to load the thumbs upon entry.
Daren,
It should load the thumbs automatically. Is the link target set to “gallery” for the default path? can you send me a link so i can see whats happening exactly?
Justin,
you need to change the code a bit in the pageContent.php file. look at the section in the documentation about protecting your access password for the page. you need to modify the first line of code. its all the the documentation. let me know how that works for you
No luck. Changed the code, even created a new page to test, but I still have the same problem.
I did add a gallery link to the bar so if you click that at least the menu bar pops back up, but as soon as you click on “instructions” which is a “page” the bar goes away and nothing else happens.
Here is the latest iteration: http://www.1kphoto.com/proofs
Thanks,
Justin
@lightroom ,
do you have any idea what’s wrong with the contact page until it won’t load to my webpage ? for the structure , i already put the contact page inside the “pages” .. help , thx
I’m using LR 1.4. Does this work with this version? I’ve spent a couple of hours on this and I can’t get it to work. I started with the Complete and got that set up and then did the galleries. It just hangs and the galleries won’t load. Does anyone have screen shots of their LR inputs. I’ve followed the steps but obviously I am missing something.
Bump digibug, smugmug is the way to go. Been playing with it and their products and interface is 10 times better.
Kent,
can you send me a link to a sample gallery with problems? I use 1.4 so its ok with that version.
Everyone,
I have noticed that alot of people seem to have trouble getting pages and galleries to work and load correctly. For those that were able to get it set up correctly do you think that the instructions were clear enough? Any help on updates the instructions to make them easier and clearer would be helpful.
Thanks!
Joe
lightroom,
i think half of the problem is the webserver that is used. I have access to three different servers and could only get it to work correctly on one. each time i copied the exact files to each server. One server is with Aplus and will not work. One server is with GoDaddy and it DID work. The third server is my home server that i store galleries on currently and it will not work.
Good point master c. I use ICDsoft - anyone using them that got it to work? My galleries work, but not the pages.
Joe,
In a previous post I listed several possible bugs. In possible bug #3, I was getting an error after using the contact form to send an email. I moved my website from a FREE godaddy hosting account to a paid hosting account today and the sendmail “unknown error” disappeared.
Do you want us to continue posting possible bugs in this area or use the RC1 forum?
Love the RC1 templates. It took me a while to understand exactly how everything fit together but now it all makes sense.
Everyone,
Delete your browser history each time you upload something new before viewing it. You must modify the contentPage.xml file as stated in the documentation. Save what you input as presets and write down on a piece of paper what you input.
Example:
Index template.
Menu Item Label = Contact
Url= contact
Link target = Page
Upload Settings:
check Put in Subfolder:
demo
Upload
Contact Template
check Put in Subfolder:
demo/pages/contact
Upload
The page will not load until you modify the contentPage.xml file.
After you upload, open your ftp program and find the contentPage.xml file in the contact folder and download it to your desktop. Open it in Notepad to change the first line to:
<?php
echo “”;
?>
Then file save as contentPage.php. Upload back to the contact folder and delete the old contentPage.xml file.
Clear your browser and the page should load.
I have used demo because I already have a live site in the root folder.
I hope this helps. I am using IE7, Vista Ultimate 32, LR 1.4., Smart http://FTP.
Demo here: http://www.darensaunders.com/demo
The code change did not paste properly in my last post. Sorry. See the correct code in the documentation.
Daren, thanks for the post. By reading it I figured out what I was doing wrong - maybe this will help someone else.
In the index settings I was setting the url as pages/contact. However, the pages/ isn’t necessary. I changed the url to contact and everything works great.
Here is a demo: http://www.1kphoto.com/proofs
ok. got the basics worked out on my own home server running apache2 and php5
However, why does the side menu bar not load until you click on the image in the center?
You’re welcome Justin. I’m glad I could help. I saw your site and it looks great. I like the concept. Your blog is cool too. Oh, your contact page wasn’t loading when I just checked it. Remember to modify the pageContent.xml file for each page. Back to work.
Joe,
Is it possible to modify the font styles of the Menu Items and Page Content?
Also, it might be good to be able to have the menu bar available on the pages as well. Is that possible?
Joe,thx for your advice ,, now my contact can be load in the webpage … but I want to ask you ,,, how come for pages/aboutus , and inside the aboutus folder ,,, there is now pagecontent.php but it can still load to the webpage n even when I’m done upload to my hosting ,,, I can still load page template on my webpage ? and how come CONTACT template should be change from .xml to .php if want to be able to load to the webpage ? can you explain to me a little a bout that ? and what should I do now ? should I make a change to all configuration for each folder that contain pagecontent.xml to pagecontent.xml in INDEX template , PAGE template , GALLERY template , ????
Anyone have the opportunity to post screen shots of what they are inputing? I am using LR 1.4. Firefox. Go Daddy for hosting. I’m not trying to do any contact pages or about us pages. I can’t get an index page and one gallery to load.
Kent,
Input settings for the index or the gallery?
you must define a default gallery or page otherwise nothing will load. make sure the default gallery is defined with the correct path. also be aware of where you are uploading the files too.
all galleries must be uploaded into the folde in which the index template was uploaded. yourdomain.com/intextemplate/categoryname/galleryname
you also must use a category name, “slash”, gallery name when you upload.
if you want to send me your ftp info via the contact form on my site i will help you get any issues resolved
jliverty,
the reason you need to convert the xml file to php file is that the xml file contains the password for the admin to edit the page. anybody can go to yourdomain.com/pages/aboutus/pageContent.xml and view your password. When you change the code in the file and rename it as .php the page runs as a php page and the browser will not show you the password. This prevents anyone from looking at your xml file, finding you password, and editing you page. thats the reason behind it. you only need to do the xml to php change for all pages and the contact form. you do not need to make the change for the index.
Daren,
you can not change the font in this template. reason being is file size. to include more font options i have to embed multiple fonts into the gallery which dramatically increases file size. You only use 1 font throughout the gallery and have no need for the other fonts embedded and their extra, and not needed, filesize. if you want a specific font let me know and i can create a custom template for you with the font you want (when i get the time to do it)
master c,
the side menu only appears when you are viewing a gallery, not a page. if you want to keep the menu open you can select “keep menu open” option in the index template. this will keep the side menu open all the time. you also must have linked the image to a gallery so when you click it it loads the gallery therefor bringing in the side menu.
Joe,
do you know why when i upload my contact to webpage ,, and when i clicked button ” about us ” and it’s loading n appear contact page but the page was like error , they blinked again and again it’s like the picture won’t appear ,,, only appear fullframe of pink colour and the body and the header also come’s out but no text at all ,, in body only says ” - ” maybe u can check it in this pic link

Joe, you indicated to jliverty the reason behind converting the xml file to php. I agree and it makes sense. However, can you not convert the file at the time of the upload? In the templates I have worked on the manifest file allows this name change. Wouldn’t that be easier than uploading, editing and then changing?
As an alternative, could we upload the xml file AND a php file - if you need the xml file to run the template in preview. It would be far easier to delete the xml file on the server via ftp than to download, change and upload.
Just thoughts. David.
Joe, I now understand your limited use of one font. Instead of making a custom template for someone, can we have one setting for the overall font? I.e., can we set a font and use that throughout the site? David.
jliverty,
Does your hosting have php installed? Double check that. you are having a strange problem, but i think it has to do with php on your server. you can also try changing the php tag at the top of pageContent.php from < ?PHP to just
jliverty, your site seems to be working fine http://jlivertygalleries.fastive.com/
fra29,
creating a category happens when you upload your gallery. in the Put in Subfolder filed in the upload section you enter your category name, a “/” then the gallery name. so to make a landscape category with a beach gallery in that category you would enter “001-Landscape/001-Beach”. the numbers before the names are so you can sort them however you want. your directory structure should look like this:
index template files/001-Landscape/001-Beach
Joe, or Lightroom Galleries,
I got a problem with shipping costs. The Iptc data is correct it worcks correctly with other templates you have made (i.e. LRG ONE) but now the paypal box (when you view cart) always shows shipping as $0. I do not have flat rate or local pickup enabled. It should pull it off the IPTC.
Now for 2 requests can something be done so when you press add to cart a note comes up that it has been added or something. People have told me that they keep pressing that not realising that it is working and end up putting 30 items in the cart.
Second can you have a setting that we can have the option of choosing what we want to show up in paypal as a description for the item i.e IPTC title rather than filename. My filenames don’t show up anywhere on my galleries, yet when ordering they popup, customers then are not sure if they are ordering the right thing.
Thanx and please let me know about the shipping showing up as 0 (oh and I have not done or changed anything in paypal for shipping and even if i had that wouldn’t prevent the gallery from showing the shipping cost would it?)
David,
I would do this if i could but i dont think it can be done. Lightroom only spits out an xml page no matter what, and it uses that xml file to show the preview. there is no way to get it to spit out a php file and be able to read it to show the preview within lighroom because it needs a server with php installed. it would be much easier if we can do that but we are very limited with lightroom, after all, its not really meant to create complex web pages so we are just sort of hacking it here. so our only option, if we want a secure password, is to make the change to php after the fact. i know it sucks but thats what we have to do with lightroom. we can include a php file to be uploaded with lightroom, but there is no way to get the values that you input from lightroom into that file so it can only be a php page thats static and performs functions outside of lightroom
Oh by the way my pricing scheme has decimal points here is one of them as an example : 4×6 print-7.95-2,5×7……….
Is the decimal point a problem?
Mark,
i will test and try to duplicate your shipping issue. in the latest version which im about to release the cart slides in when you hit Add To Cart so that should solve that request. I think we can change the name that shows in paypal item name, let me see what i can do. i will try to add this to the latest unreleased version before i release it
@ Joe Lightroomgalleries ,
jliverty,

“”"”< ?PHP to just”"”" to just what Joe ? <?PHP change to ” just” as word u mean ?
Looks fantastic so far!!
Quick feature request? Can you put in some visual feedback for when you click the ‘add to cart button?’ Right now, it’s way to easy to assume that it didn’t get added. As for how this might be done – perhaps a little bit of text that says “purchased” to the right of the button?
hey Joe ,,, maybe in your index template ,,, you can put some sound like mp3 or something like that ,,, and that sound , everybody who hear that if they like or no they can put the sound turn on or turn off .. thx ,, just an idea for you ..
I’m having a problem with paypal. It works fine as long as there is no coupon code, but when I enter a coupon code (which is setup and double-checked) the paypal page states one of two messages
1 - your shopping cart is empty
2 - you must enter an amount greater than zero.
If I remove the coupon code the transaction goes through to paypal just fine. I have tested it with amounts greater than and less than the minimum amount, but always below the 10000 number.
Here is the link: http://www.1kphoto.com/proofs
gallery: ally08
coupon code: ally
coupon amount should be 50%
Also, I don’t know if it makes a difference, but I have 0 for all the shipping amounts.
Justin
This is a fantastic template!
I have found one problem though. If I navigate to a non-gallery page, the menu disappears from the left side, or if I change the default section type to page, the menu disappears as well.
Mick,
that is how it is suppose to operate. the menu on the side goes away when you view a page and reappears when you view a gallery.
Justin,
Do no enter the % symbol in the discount amount field. just put in the number of percentage.
Here is relevent code from the galleryData.xml file
flatRateShipping=”true” flatRateCost=”0.00″ ppBtnROColor=”000000″ ppBtnColor=”333333″ coupon1Min=”1.00″ coupon1Max=”10000.00″ coupon1dis=”50.00″ coupon1code=”ally”
So, to create a category with a sub-category in the left (open menu) section I create a gallery and in the “Put in Subfolder” section I type for example: /birds/robin and that’s it? I’ve tried this every which way and all I get is a plus sign with no text and the plus sign doesn’t expand.
Kent,
Yes thats all you need to do. But if you placed your index template in a subfolder of your website you need to include that folder name as well like below
subfolder/categoryname/galleryname
Your web server pust have php installed for the menu to work. Make sure you have php installed.
Justin,
I did a test with my demo gallery and added a % symbol to the discount about and i got the error you were getting. then i removed the % symbol and the error went away. the code you have in there looks correct. maybe just take the decimal out and see if that does anything. it should not make any difference but you can try
I do have php installed. I’ve put the files exactly as you’ve described. I’ve emailed you the site too. I’ll just wait for an updated version.
well
to have the munu category
i did that : i upload the lrg complete index but to put a gallery i make a new folder since like indextemplate?
thx
it’s ok for menu i can see all pictures but not anyway in the menu at left …..
perhaps i can give you my ftp address to see what going on?
@Joe ,
so , what are you going to do next Joe with the next revision ? are you going to make a new feature again ?
can you put it output file like .p3 inside the template ?
Mark,
I am not seeing any problem with the shipping prices. Let me do one more test and see. Can show me again how you are entering the info in the IPTC field? it should be:
option name-price-shipping so 4×6 Framed-10.99-5.99
4×6 print-7.95-2,5×7 print-9.95-2,8.5×11 print-24.95-3,13×19 print-59.95-6
That’s the format i have and flat rate is not checked worked on LRG one

I am still having issues with the subcategory labels. They are sometimes white and sometimes green depending on how I mouse over them - this is all in preview, haven’t uploaded to site yet. David.
