LRG FlashFlex Released!
Once again we are very happy to announce the release of our latest template LRG FlashFlex! This is the first Multi Gallery export template! To organize your images into different galleries or categories all you need to do is fill in the Category IPTC and your images will be organized into separate categories/galleries!
This template is HIGHLY customizable. Basically every color, size, and text can be changed to fit your needs. Included in the downloadable zip file is a readme file that shows you what options/colors are where within the template so customizing is easy.
This release is a beta release. Everything should be working correctly, but if you run into any problem PLEASE let me know so i can fix them. PLEASE let me know what you think of this template as well as any suggestions you have.
ENJOY!
Just a quick note about this template for you PC users out there. Lightroom will NOT show a preview of the flash movie used in this template. You will have to use the “Preview in Browser” button or actually export the Gallery.
Enjoy!

Hi,
you did a great job once more!
I had a short look at the Sample-Gallery and like to sum up what strikes me:
The Drag&Drop function does not save the choice of pictures I droped to the border. Especially when I scroll for- and backwards.
Maybe it would be a nice feature to choose a draged picture while an other is shown up big, without closing the large one first.
The vertical picture has no menue at the bottom and is not scrollable if the monitor-hight was not large enough.
Looks as if it will be good - when it works! Using Firefox I get a gallery about 20% of the screen height. Everything seems to be there but it is crammed into that tiny space and you cannot see all the thumbnails.
Also on your sample gallery there is a problem in the slideshow when going from portrait to landscape and vice versa. The pop-up menu bar appears in the wrong place then disappears so you can’t get to the next photo without going back to the index.
Thanks for the Firefox fix. Now comes out full screen but the problem going from portrait to landscape or vice versa) in the slideshow is still there
The portrait/landscape fix was completed as well. Maybe you downloaded it before the new upload was complete. Please download it again and the portrait/landscape fix is in there. thanks for catching that little bug for me
Downloaded again and now works fine thanks. Another bug discovered with the slideshow is that it misses the last photo. With 6 thumbnails (two rows of three) it goes back to photo 1 after photo 5. Likewise with 4 photos (3 in first row 1 in second) goes back to photo 1 after photo 3. It always misses the last photo. Even if you start with the last photo and go backwards that photo never appears again. Haven’t tried it with more/less thumbnails yet.
The navigation got a little more complex then i anticipated for some reason. I working on improving its functionality.
I am having trouble with the “back to website” url isn’t working. what should I type in that field?
randy
This gallery is made in Flash 8, so you need the Flash 8 player. If you are testing the gallery from your hard drive and not from a web server you will get a security setting error from Flash 8 and the link will not work. You need to upload it to a web server and the linking will work fine. If you still have problems let me know.
First off, let me say THANKS!!!!
I created a gallery (www.randygayportfolio.com/salt). It has several pages of thumbnails with 16 images on each page.
If you click on the any thumbnail, as expected, the large image shows up. You can use the navigation arrows on that large image to navigate to the next slide. However, when you get to the next to the last slide on the page, in this case no. 15, it takes you back to 1st slide and skips the 16th slide. If you open the 16th slide from the thumbnails, it opens, but its navigation button takes you nowhere, just a message thet says “undefined.”
You can see what I’m talking about at http://www.randygayportfolio.com/salt and http://www.randygayportfolio.com/dc. What would be ideal would be for the navigation bar on the 16th slide to take you to the next page, and the navigation bar on the 15th slide should take you to the 16th slide.
Please let me know if there is anything you can do to help.
Great photos randy! i know what you are talking about, i actually had it working like you mentioned but it was causing some other issues that i could not solve. Im going to revisit it again and fix it for the v1.0 realease of the template (its still beta now).
I just had a look onto http://www.randygayportfolio.com/salt and had problems with firefox 2.0.0.4 (win xp): There was just a small border where it tries to show the gallery. (Nearly wo lines of thumbnails)
Changing the browser-engine to IE 6 and it works fine.

Hey gang.. I’m going to move my gallery to flashflex and see how that works. If you recall last week, we had a problem with the copyright info being posted twice in flashscroller. I seem to have the same issue with Flashflex… You were able to fix that fix that in a very short time last time, so if its not too much trouble, could you add that tweak to flash flex as well?
May I say again what a great site this is… I keep checking to see what you come up with next !
I love what you have achieve with your templates.
My question is why when I load your template I cannot see the design insight Lightroom?
I have to guesstimate and export it to see the results.
What am I doing wrong?
This is the one major problem we have run into, and its a real pain. We have not been able to figure it out. So, until that issue is resolved you will have to just use the “export” or “preview in browser” buttons. This only happens with the flash templates though.
My fault! I must have forgot to include it with the latest update. I have reuploaded the template with the readme. Please download it again.
[...] There’s a site called “Lightroom Galleries” that just rocks. They have developed some just amazing Flash-based Web galleries fyou can download for free for Lightroom’s Web module. You can see samples of them in action, and then download them right there. This is very cool stuff, and extends Lightroom’s Web power by quite a bit. Here’s the link. [...]
I downloaded all your wonderful templates. Makes Lightroom so much better for web export. The thing is that Flashflex has some errors I can’t fix. First of all, and most importantly, the categories feature doesn’t work. I do exactly as you explain in you ‘manual’ and in Lightroom it works fine, but when I export, the categories are gone and I only see ‘all images’ and ‘undefined’, which both show all the images.
Secondly all of a sudden the top right link disappeared in Safari.
I tried it again (see my previous mail), step by step, and it works now! The categories all show now.
The FLASH FLEX Template Rocks!!!!!!
Tight design!
1 issue im having………..
Im trying 2 put together a PORTFOLIO site
of various images which were shot on various camera’s with various ASPECT RATIOS.
The IMAGE TITLE & CAPTION SEEM TO JUMP & GET STUCK
WHEN I SELECT AN IMAGE WITH A DIFFERENT ASPECT SIZE….
It seems to prefer one image size???
Still brilliant though!!!!!
found a bug in the gallery Category Bar colors. Category Box text and Category Box Text rollover will not be set to the choosen colors. Selected yellow and green, nothing happend but white.
Does this template have an option to where it will automatically go to the next slide as opposed to having to click the arrow?
I emailed you and you responded saying you would be gratefull for a donation of $100.00 if you could help me to customize this so it shows the menu bars un first view and a few other small changes…. you dissapeared. I hope all is well… Please get back to me about this !!
Happy Holidays
Jason Joseph
Jason,
Sorry, i get so many emails its hard to keep track of everything. I will have a look at it now. can you email or post the exact changes/modification you need?
thanks!!
Joe

Just what I have been waiting for. Just a small comment on compatibility of browser. It doesn’t look right in firefox (the lower half of the screen is just white), but works well in IE. Thanks for this!
