LRG FlashSlideStrip with PayPal update!
I have made a few updates to the LRG FlashSlideStrip with PayPal template, thanks to user suggestions.
Update includes:
- Minor bug fixes
- Fixed pPayPal display error when using non USD currency symbols
- Scrollbar will now appear if your browser is smaller then the gallery so users can see all content
- The image strip will also center itself as long as the browser is larger then the gallery content
- Because of a firefox and flash bug I had to remove the transparent background capability
As usual, please report any bugs, problems, suggestions, or questions.
Thanks!! enjoy!
Joe

The more photos you have selected the longer it takes to refresh. I get around this by selecting just one photo whilst I’m configuring all the gallery settings to my taste. Try it and see how you get on.
I have a huge problem, I don’t know what to do about it. I made a gallery, uploaded it, and as soon as i go to see it I get this message: A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player to run slowly. If i continues to run, your computer may become unresponssive. Do you want to continue? YES or NO
if NO, it doesnt load, if YES it loads on some machines, others crash. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to prevent it?
It’s funny you say that I tried that with one image got everything ready and then I went ahead and grabbed about 600 images or so, but that’s were the problem still happens. It takes a few hours for them to load in that’s why I was asking if LR is RAM inhibited. So even when they all load up in LR web and I click on the upload button to FTP to the site another hour or so. But again once uploaded and I tried to view it http://www.unruephoto.com/slideshows/benevides I get that script error. And Joe I know you responded back to me about “are you really going to use more than 5000 images per slide show?†no never at the most maybe 1000 images. So I’m bummed out about this because I know how hard you have worked on this. If you have any suggestions would greatly be appreciated as I want to use this for our website for our clients to finally be able to see images in a large format and be able to order them.
i think any more then about 100 images or so for this type of gallery is too much. it will take too long to load and will cause flash player problems. the only solution is to use less images
Yeah its just the nature of this template itself. this template has to load all the images in the strip, and if you have alot that will take a while. the LRG One with PayPal shopping cart is html and will work for you
hello, i am very imprssed by your galleries. when i get the process integrated i will gladly donate to your work. But, i have added the latest slidestrip with paypal template and i can see it under the Panel “web”, and subpanel “gallery”. it works fine but i cannot find anywhere the box “include paypal features” (as per your readme.txt. file. Where is this checkbox please?
I have located the iptc data input field for pricing, etc, but cannot find “include paypal features”.
thank you for your great work.
on my page it seems that the last image loads first. is this normal? is there a way i can change this?
hey guys, first of all thanks for your great work!
flash slide strip bugs me thou. As soon as I disable my
id plate about half of the gallery strip shifts off the
windowframe towards the bottom. Even if I switch off all
functions like slideshow, etc..to free up space above
the images…What could this be!?
Same for the select and paypal versions.

Of course the same problem occurs in my webbrowser…
Thanx for any help!

What i have to insert in my html web page if i want to see your new version ?
Thank you…
Hi Joe -
I’ve got this one working now, and almost ready to go live. Just one issue, though - would it be possible to get it to feed the Image Title into the PayPal cart, instead of the filename?
I feel this would be more customer-friendly, and don’t really want to have to amend the filenames to make them more user-friendly, as it will cause me confusion down the line!
YES !!
it would be very interesting to get an image title in paypal cart !!
Very good idea !
And what about my problem of EURO currency symbol ?? (see my screen capture)
Did you find a solution ?…
Hi,
I’m working on my first foray into a site for my photography. I have a friend helping since html is not my thing. I greatly appreciate the availability of your script and he’s shown me what my photos will look like incorporating paypal. My question is. If I have a large number of photos, is there another script you are aware of that will make it easier for people to choose which photos they look at? For instance a grid from which they can pick, or a scroll bar they can move through the photos with. Not that your script isn’t great. Just concerned that people may or may not get to the photos they are most interested in easily. Philosophy: Easier is better. Does all this rambling make sense?
Thanks, Bill
Bill,
There is the LRG One with PayPal template that you can use http://www.lightroomgalleries.com/template-downloads/lrg-one-with-paypal-shopping-cart/
I am adding paypal features as we speak to a new template that is similar to the LRG Flash Flex template
hi !
I try us the html version of lrg paypal gallery ,but i can not give the price for the picture. How can give price for picture ?
thx
This is my favorite gallery. Thanks!!
I do have one problem. The vertical images used to be more centered in FlashSlideStrip but in the paypal version they are lined up with the top of the horizontal images ones causing them to extend down too far. Is there an option or a way to fix this?

Hey Joe,
Question is there any way that you can put an option like APPLY NOW, because every time i make a change lets say Gallery Title it reloads everything again same thing for the colors or anything for that matter. I would like to be able to get everthing set up and then be able to apply it at one time. Would that be possible?
Thanks again for your great work. I was talking with Andy about it to he said something about it going into an infinite loop in its actionscript code.
