We a happy to announce the release of a long awaited template, LRG FlashSlideStrip with PayPal!
Features Include:
- Bug fixes
- Full PayPal shopping cart system (Read the included ReadMe.txt file)
- PayPal options can be toggled on or off
- Slideshow Controls
- Slideshow functionality can be toggled on or off
- Image Title and Caption text and background box will automatically resize to fit in all your text.
- Color of inactive image can now be completely controlled. You can change the imactive images color and opacity

Hey Joe
Good work.
How do you change the size and typeface of the PayPal options/button text? At the moment it’s pretty small and illegible on my machine.
Hey Joe
Following on…
The readme.txt states that you can replace the default images that you supply. I don’t have any addtocart.gif, etc in the gallery folder? How do I go about adding my own images, and changing the option dropdown typeface to match the typeface used in my own images?
When the options are passed to the Paypal shopping cart I’m getting the following character inserted before the currency symbol in my price:
Â
any idea what causes this if so, how do I remove it?
Also; In addition to the filename, is it possible to pass on the metadata title and caption to PayPal as the item number reference?
Hi, very nice. I got it to work! But I was curious how to make the pricing text in the drop-down menu bigger. I don’t see a choice for that. It’s very tiny on my screen. Thanks for the great work!

At the moment you can not change the font size with this template. Flash handles fonts a little different so i chose a font which is clean, clear, and crisp. It should be fine on most monitors unless your screen resolution is very large (smaller icons and things). I may in the future choose a couple extra fonts to allow users to change font, but this ads alot of file size to the file itself.
Custom Images: I included the wrong README, this template does not allow you to change the add to cart button image. It is actually a flash component which works very well
Strange A symbol: Not sure why you are getting this. What browser and platform are you on?
Additional character:
Using ie6 on Win XP Joe. I’ve also noticed there’s a colon being added at the end of the price too. I’ll mail you a screen grab.
Fonts:
The serif font for the view/add to cart buttons and PayPal dropdown options is too small and almost impossible to read on my setup: 1280×1024 screen. The sans serif font that the template uses for the gallery captions would be a better option in my opinion. As a designer I feel it would give a more uniform and professional look to the template if the fonts matched.
Item Number:
What about passing the extra metadata tile/caption onto Paypal in addition to the image filename?
Hi, Joe
I posted on the Forum re font legibility, with a screenshot of the issue on my Apple Cinema Display at the standard 1680 x 1050. This is just to add that changing screen resolution doesn’t actually make any difference, and while I can see that the font you’re using is crisp and should be clear, at the point size set it doesn’t resolve legibly. Would it be posssible to edit one of the files to try out a bigger point size?
Hey Joe
The transparent background doesn’t seem to work for me.
Same problem as Slidestrip had that you fixed previously maybe?
Is it possible to get the flash content photos to center vertically in the browser the same as autoviewer does?
Hi - great work - I would also recommend the ability to change the paypal informatio size.
It really is too small to be useable as it is at the moment.
Great work though - fantastic job.
hi - i also agree that the paypal information being displayed is way to small - it is virtually unreadable at 1280 x 1024
GREAT JOB THOUGH - you are very talented.
Thanks for all your feedback! Im going to change the font size and font for this template as many have said it is too small.
About centering vertically…This (and other) technical issues are what has taken me so long to release this template. I was able to make the strip center vertically but there was some issue with the browsers that would not allow this to work 100%. I also have a version which will scale to fit the window, but this did not work well enough for me to release. The big issue was because of the PayPal options.
I struggled to make this template very flexable and took into account all these things you mention, but settled on what you see in the current template. I will spare you all the details, problems, and issues I ran into trying to get this template to function how i wanted it.
I still am looking to improve on this template so check back for updates
I like the FlashSlideStrip with Paypal better because the images to the right and left are black / dark gray even if the frame around the picture is white.
the regular FlashSlideStrip has the option to not center the film strip which looks better with 600px tall vertical images on my macbook…
was wondering if it was possible to merge the better options of each
stefano
Yeah im going to add that to the non-paypal version, but you can turn the paypal option on/off in the paypal template so you can still use that one. Just uncheck the include paypal features checkbox and no paypal stuff will appear.
I know that I can turn the paypal stuff off.
the non paypal version can be customized more.
like “not center film strip” which gives me more room for vertical images.
i prefer the images yet to be seen to have a dark gray/glack overlay rather than the white/light gray overlay of the non paypal version.
I like to have a white border and a dark overlay and I can’t get that in the non paypal version.
one thing that would be great would be to be able to specify max height - not just max dimension.
i would like the horizontal images to be 640 wide and the vertical images to be 540 tall or something - so i could fit in the browser window without having to scroll down to read the caption
i am putting some tests at stefanogiovannini dot com/littlehaiti1
tefanogiovannini dot com/littlehaiti2 tefanogiovannini dot com/littlehaiti3
tefanogiovannini dot com/littlehaiti4 tefanogiovannini dot com/littlehaiti5
also I would really like to have a scrollable text box above or below the images where i could write a paragraph or two about the gallery…
I am just testing - figuring out what is best,
so far what i found here are the best options for lightroom.
i wonder if there is a way to customize these a bit more or embed them in some page with text
Guys, I have a huge problem, i dunno what to do about it. I made a gallery, uploaded it, and as soon as i go to see it I get this message: A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player to run slowly. If i continues to run, your computer may become unresponssive. Do you want to continue? YES or NO
if NO, it doesnt load, if YES it loads on some machines, others crash. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to prevent it?
I love this template…Love Lightroom, but how in the heck do you install this template.Oh someone please help me.
I got the LRG FlashSlideStrip with PayPal! working and it’s wonderful the only problem is that i’m getting an error and was wondering if anyone new about this problem. This is the error I get:
[an error occurred while processing this directive]
Can anyone help with this?
Hey guys, this is awesome, but I got a request. Can this work with Google Checkout? Can it be edited to use Google Checkout? I have an account with Google and do not want to use PayPal, so I am searching for something like this and if it could be edited to use Google, I would be happy, happy HAPPY!
Yes a Google checkout version could be made no problem. i’ll have to research their code a bit more, but i think its probably similar to PayPal.
How great are these templates!!! Lightroom and templates like these are giving photographers the ability to post images to a website in minutes compared to days. Bravo to you guys for offering these!
Hi!
I would like to know if its possible to add the Australian Dollor to LRG FlashSlideStrip with PayPal templete?
Thanks
I agree, AUD (and other currencies) would be very handy. Would be willing to donate a small amount in said currency if it could be done.
Nice work!

Looks great, Joe. Nice work!
