We took the LRG FlashSlideStrip template and added image selection and comment capabilities to it!!
Viewers can scroll through your images and select which ones they like and also attach their comments for that image. Once they are done they simply fill out a simple for with their name, email, and any message they would like to include. Once they submit the for you will receive an email with a listing of the images they chose and their comments for each image.

This is a perfect template for pro photographers!!
NOTE: This template requires PHP in order for the emails to be sent out.

As usual PLEASE send me any bugs, suggestions, or requests.

Enjoy!
Joe

Hey Joe

Many thanks, good work once again.
Just a wee note to bring to your attention…

On my install, the bottom of the “back to website” text touches the top of the “submit selected images” button. There is no spacing between them. It’s the same when exported. This doesn’t seem to be the case in your example gallery.

cheers

J.

Hey Joe,

tried to use the select gallerie you’ve just built. The only problem (but maybe it comes from me) is that you can’t select “add” with vertical pictures (you can’t navigate horizontaly in the page).
Otherwise great as usual!

Download the template again, i have fixed this. i just included the wrong index.html file

i’ll look into that. can you send me a link to the gallery you are having this problem with?

Do I have to do anything special to the php file in order for it to work? Set it to executable or anything?

no you just need to have php running on your hosting service. most web hosting comes with php. are you having issues with the email not going through of something?

Actually I just figured out what happened. When I uploaded the gallery from within Lightroom, it didn’t upload the php file. I checked the error logs on my hosting server and it had logged an error that it couldn’t find the email.php file. That’s weird… All of the rest of the files uploaded. Any ideas?

Hi Joe, I noticed that the Select gallery and the standard gallery share the same identifier. You might want to change them for users who want to keep both on hand. Otherwise, good stuff.

I have been using your templates for a few weeks now and love them, Thanks!
But i have a question about this one, im Running IIS and just successfully installed PHP 5, how does this email script work? do i need to have a SMTP setup also?
Thanks
Jason

I figured it out thanks, I setup a Mail Server and changed the E-mail address to my own domain
Thanks
Jason

the email feature just uses the mail() function built into PHP no need for SMTP

thanks Matt! just changed it

THIS JUST GETS BETTER AND BETTER….

and now we are looking for is flickr integration with some kind of feed system that pulls sets or images with certain tags from flickr - similar to what is possible with monoslideshow (www.monoslideshow.com ) and flickr MSS ( http://www.sweeting.net - check this out!)

also the ability to externally view private sets using the guest pass system — so many people have been looking for this…. know-body has worked this out yet…. i wonder who will be the first?

this will then be the best gallery system on the planet.

must respect to you joe for what you have done so far!

Hi !

Is there any way to remove the header pannel ?
thank you !

When I deselect identity plate the gallery is not well centered anymore.

What is the purpose of the SELECT checkbox?

It seems that the ADD/REMOVE button takes care of adding a photo to someone’s list of “good” photos. So, I can’t figure out what the SELECT checkbox is for?

Outstanding work, by the way!

The reason there is a select checkbox is to differentiate between adding a comment and adding the image to the list. if there was no select checkbox then people would think that by hitting the ADD button it would simply add their comment. With the checkbox you can select that you want to just add the selected image and comment if left. Kind of hard to explain but i understand your thinking about its functionality.

Im was wondering is there anyway to run more then one LRG FSS on the same website. i have uploaded two different galleries on to two different pages when i go the second page it runs the original slideshow. kind of new to all this web designing so go easy on me

Yes you can do this no problem. im not sure what you have done so far but all you need to do is export 2 different galleries, places in separate folders on your server, like yourdomain.com/gallery1 yourdomain.com/gallery2. just change the folder name when for each when you upload to the server with lightroom. then just link to each one like http://www.yourdomain.com/gallery1 and http://www.yourdomain.com/gallery2 and that should work

I don’t seem to be able to create a viewable website out of this template. At LR Web Module it doesn’t show anyting (”Loading…”). When I export that to a local folder and launch it using Safari, I get a movie script error alerting Flash will run slow if I continue launching it. Nothing is shown apart from this.

Greetings,

This gallerie is fantastic. Thanks for your work.

When a image is smaller than the space occupied by the “caption/select/enter comment” area, the text entry and the button stays out of the image area, floating under the next image. Have you experienced this ?

To be perfect, this issue should be corrected :)

Thanks,

I’m having the same problem as carlos. Any thoughts?

Luke,
try a gallery with maybe 20 or less images. see how that works as a test

If the gallery is to big, it will be very very slow loading…
