A note for Mac users requiring a Euro symbol. Open the general.js file and enter the € symbol in the quotes beside the add=
if (sign == “euros”){
add = “”; // with this
The symbol there currently is for Euro on the PC and may not be recognised by Lightroom. Some editors may show “Ä” instead, again this needs to read “€” instead.
Nice idea!
I’ve tested your demo-gallery and found a little problem:
- select a different size in the combo-box and click “add”
- On the PayPal-Site you see the right amount but the option is wrong (allways the first option which is $10)
Tested with Firefox on Win2000
Question:
is it correct that it works like this: Someone likes to buy photos, select which ones and which format, pays via paypal and just waits.
You get the money via PayPal together with a mail with a list of all selected photos and options and the address of the customer.
So now you are going to order the photos and send them to the customer.
Right?
Hey gys,
I noticed that once i place my order, regardless of the printformat i chose, my cart will show me a 4×6 framed for 10 bucks even if the client gets chargeg what he ordered. So if I chose an 8×10 it will charge me and probably order an 8×10 but in the cart it will figure as an 4×6 for 10$, that i am getting charged 30$ for.
The little bugs you mentioned below have been fixed in the minor update i made earlier this morning. please download the template again. thanks!
Have used this for a recent job (school prom) it is great but with one exception - the images look great in LIGHTROOM and CS2 but when they are transferred in to the web site they render very dark to the point where I cant advertise the photos using the gallery - anyone had the same or know of a fix - desperate. Otherwise this is really cool and easy to use.
I have not really noticed any darkness while exporting to a gallery. I think is a Lightroom application issue rather then anything with the templates. Does it happen just with this template or with all templates?
1.) i have no problems with dark pictures (tested on Mac with Safari and Firefox; Original photos are RAW files out of my 350D)
2.) i have problems with the currency symbol. If i set it to “Euros” it is not displayed correctly in Safari (on my mac). I then had to manually set the browser to a different encoding (something like Windows Latin 2) which is not that nice. Do you think you can change this to be utf-8 compatible?
And: if i click on “add to cart” i get the (english) paypal site which is displaying it’s own summary with the correct Euro-Symbol. But the Information in the Grid (which is sent from the gallery i think) are just some crazy symbols (dots and strange characters) instead of the Euro-Symbol.
3.) How can i start Paypal-Cart in German? I’ve set the “US”-Value in the Settings of the Galery to “DE” but that was not the trick… Any ideas?
thanks a lot
A couple of problems with this template.
In the top right you have the “Back To Website” text, and there is a box for us to be able to put in a URL so when someone clicks on the “Back To Website” text (or whatever text we put there) they will be directed to the URL that we put in.
But, there is a problem. My home page is http://www.photobama.com and I used your template to make a christmas parade page to test out this template,
http://www.photobama.com/Fulmer%20Events/Christmas%20Parade/
While at the above link I can click on the “Back To Website” box at the top right and it wont take me back to the URL I put in the URL box in Lightroom. Try it out and see what I mean.
Other problem. I put my identity plate at the top of the page. In the box below the identity page I can put in a URL or an email address so when someone clicks on the text (graphic, or whetever my identity plate is) it will take them to the URL or bring up their emial with my email address.
But, with your template it doesn’t do anything. The URL isn’t attached with it.
One more thing, is there a way to add a flat amount for Shipping charges or does this have to be done from within my paypal account?
You should be able to set this up from within paypal, just check their documentation on it. I am working on a template update that allows for per item shipping cost, and i am probably going to try to build in a flat rate option as well
It is set right now to not link the identity plate, i think i just overlooked that. its a simple fix. Give me a day or so and i will have that as well as the shipping options integrated into the template
when typing urls in you need to include the http:// part in there. what exactly did you type in the back to site url box?
“when typing urls in you need to include the http:// part in there. what exactly did you type in the back to site url box?”
Thanks for the help. I’m an html idot to say the least. I’ll put the http:// before my address (I had put just the http://www. address so that is most likely it. Thanks so much for your work on this.
I’ll be looking out for the Identity Plate addition.
Russell
Russell, yeah that’s the problem. Typing the full URL with the http://www should fix it. I also fixed the Id Plate issue and it will now link correctly. Please download the template again.
Love the template. Find it very useful, however, I would like to edit it to add a check box for local pickup where the customer would not be charged shipping. I was able to tweak the code on a page that was output from the template and it does exactly what I want. When I tried inserting the line of code in the transformer.xslt file, when LR builds a gallery it will not make any of the index pages or individual html pages for the images. I have a fair handle of html, but not that well versed on css and xml … if you could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. Thanks for all your great work.
I asked for a little assistance from Joe on how to customize my template and it was great that he helped me out … THANKS JOE!!
How can I get the Paypal cart to go to the http://www.paypal.co.uk site instead of the .com one and make the transaction in £ not $? Thanks
search for “https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr” in the transformer.xslt, once you find it change it to whatever you want. To make the transaction £ not $, just change the Currency Symbol dropdown in the right panel of the template.
[...] the good work. I think my favorite right now over at Lightroom Galleries it what they are calling LRG One that includes an optional Paypal shopping [...]
Ok, so I am a newbie at this…
I have set up the prices in the IPTC Instructions Field, yet they are not showing up in the web gallery. This may be a given, but do I need to also set up the same individual sizes & pricing in paypal?
Hi - great work - one question though in lightroom I only have US dollars - I want Aussie dollars
Tried looking in the gallerymaker.xml - but nothing in there seems to change it.
Anyone ahve any idea’s??
Hi,
I really like your template. I was wondering if there is a way to turn off or remove the light blue imgShadow… .png images that appear around the thums and large images. The color is not compatible with my site and also will not display correctly in the exported galleries. After export, the files are hidden or missing, etc.
Thanks,
Terry
Is there a way to turn off the option for viewers to either save the image or to print it themselves?
I mean, I know there’s a way…
http://www.kelliemccann.com/gallery.html?gallery=Portraiture
has a popup that makes it clear about copyright…
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Wow thanks for the great template!
I was wondering if their was a way to build a shopping cart into the template itself. That way buyers could review images before submitting to pay pall. I have some web programing skills, maybe you could give me an idea of where to begin( if this is even possible).
