PayPal Shopping Cart System

I am now in the process of going through all the templates, starting from the first one, and making updates and improvements. I am almost done with the first template, LRG Template 1, and have added the following features:

  • Ability to change font and font size for all the text
  • Added PayPal shopping cart buttons
  • Size options and prices can be set on a per image basis
  • The PayPal feature can be turned on or off
  • And more..
  • I should also be able to modify the shopping cart system for this template to work with other payment processors, so if you have any suggestions please let me know.

Hi Jo (I hope I’ve got that right..if only your about page had something on it ;)),

Glad to see you putting paypal on your templates. At the moment I get about 50 hits a day for people looking for this so when you add it I’ll be happy to link to them…and its saved me another job - thanks!

    cheers
    Chris

    hey!

I think what you are doing is GENIUS.

I have some really good ideas for you. If I can give you an idea that makes this site REALLY profitable for you, would you be willing to grant me free access to it?

I could even be a beta tester, or anything else you need. I know flash and photoshop really well, and I’ve been doing photography professionally the last few years. I’m fresh into Lightroom, but I am all over it - especially with these templates.

Let me know! And again - This site is genius, and potentially a gold mine for you!

    Nice work,

    Austin

I’m at the other end of the spectrum from some of your other readers–I’m interested in putting my creativity toward the photography rather than toward writing code that you seem to be so good at. So, thank you very much for the work that you are doing. I especially like your flashflex template, and will be very interested to see a PayPal version of it. The built-in Lightroom templates from Adobe are all very clever, but not only do they lack the ecommerce feature, but also they lack the ability to put enough words in place to display your ideas. You’ve seemed to solve that problem.

    Best,

    Bob

    Wow!

You have done a fantastic job here. I followed along in the middle of last summer as details about these matters started to surface.

Where it appears that we will not have “User Friendly” tools to get at these features til version 2.0, you have laid down a great overview about how to get under the covers with the Lightroom Web Module.

You definitely have potential for making money through this site. Have you considered offering services to people to help them make custom galleries for them?

I wish I stumbled on to this sooner, but I have been distracted with the CS3 release and coming up to speed there.

Many Kudos to your efforts here. I hope you are rewarded for your efforts. Many others have given up or done their best to ney say the back door the Lightroom team has nicely left open for people like you. It seemed just a matter of time before someone like you took the ball and ran with it.

I will keep my eyes on this site for future developments. I will also be dusting off my notes on this matter to bring it to the front for some experiments of my own. How nice that your work was not broken by the 1.1 update!

Just a question on this Joe,
Have you a way that creates a code for each image for Paypal? That way you could get the image code and price code together.

Yes i have the paypal template working, i ran into some css issue as far a display (thats whats taking so long), but the paypal part is done. im going to release the template later today

I am really looking forward to seing this work. I don’t know anything about how to make the templates but i do know my needs as a photographer. I was wondering if it would be possible to have a gallery where clients can check the pix they choose almost as if they would ad them to a cart and also right comments such as “ad more hair, remove blemishes, i want this one in B&W…When they click submit i get an email with their choices. That would be very cool. Keep up the good work,

    Sergiu
