Quick Updates

Its been a little while since I have released any template updates or new templates, but I just wanted to let you know i’m hard at work.

Right now I am in the process of finishing up the LRG FlashSlideStrip with PayPal shopping cart options. Once that has been released I am going to be adding PayPal options for all the Flash templates.

I am also creating a core group of features that will be included in all future flash templates. These are things such as PayPal buttons, Slideshow options, Password protection, and more.

A new Full Featured template is in the works which will allow you to basically create and maintain and entire photo portfolio directly from Lightroom. This one will be really cool.

Finally, I am gonig to rewrite the tutorials as I have learned so much more about Lightroom and how it works. The coding methods are very different from what was written in the tutorials and I would like to update everyone on that. So keep an eye out for new tutorials if you are interested in trying to create your own custom Lightroom template!

There are many new ideas, updates, and templates coming down the road!!! Matt has also been working on some great templates as well, so check back here often for the latest in Lightroom web gallery templates.

Awesome news! I can’t wait to see the flash templates with paypal!

I am having difficulty getting the “continue” button to work on the Paypal shopping Cart. I realized this is not a LR Gallery issue, but if anyone has made any progress in finding a fix, I would love to hear it.

In case you’re not aware, currently, the “Add to Cart” button opens the Paypal cart in a new tab in Firefox. I thought I discovered a work around, but it causes problems in IE7. If anyone has gotten the Continue Shopping button to work in both browsers, I would love to see the code.

All the best,
Eric

Fantastic news - cant wait to see the flash slide strip with the paypal options.

Your the man!!

Fabulous news!! I cannot wait to see what you come up with next… I left a comment a little while back regarding issues with your latest flash slide strip 2.0 template… and I am so pleased that I now figured out how to make it work!! Thanks again for everything!!

In response to Eric Rudd:
The same for me - the continue button does not work for me.

Im on a Mac so I use Safari, Camino, FF, and Opera to test.

What do you mean by the continue button does not work for you? the continue button is a PayPal thing and not really part of the template. The one thing though which needs to be done is i need to make the continue button not open a new window. I have the fix for this. Basically is a matter of removing the target from the continue button link. I will add this fix to the next release or release and update for this.

Hi Admin,

Yes, I realize that the continue button is a Paypal thing. I was just sniffing around here to see if anyone came up with a work around.

“what do you mean the continue button does not work for you?”

When I add a picture to the cart, the cart opens in a new tab. Clicking the “continue shopping” button on the cart tab then does nothing…presumably because Paypal has admitted that there is an issue with tabs in Firefox, IE, etc. There is a workaround floating about that suggests adding a line of code that tells Paypal to open the cart in the same window. You also add a URL for Paypal to return to. You’d have to do this code for every single image in your gallery…a bit of a PITA. Perhaps that’s what you’re working on. I found that this worked in Firefox, but not in IE7.

Anyway, if get to looking at how to make this work, make sure to check the Paypal cart with a return trip….select photo, add it to the cart, hit “continue shopping,” and have Paypal return you to your index page. I would love it if it would return you to the last image viewed, but I don’t know how to do this.

Sorry if this is more confusing that not. I hoped this helps describe the problem.

Respectfully,

Eric

Thanks for all your work on this site! It’s great to have access to all the great templates and galleries to help please my clients and have them be able to enjoy their photos just that little bit more. Keep up the good work!

Wow, Sounds like you have been doing some really good work look forward to seeing the finished projects! :)

Nathan

Hi, I am waiting with eagerness your advances in the html and flash galleries with paypal added features. I have been thinking for over a year now how I would love to have my images available for general purpose purchasing over the net, and it looks like your the man for the job, well done.

Kind regards and all the best

Craig

good to hear man! keep it up!

Exciting news on the LR paypal page you are working on.

It looks good for prints, what about hres downloads of files for commercial work, clients and stock? How would that be handled from RAW (.CR2) files for example. It would seem that one would have to have hres tifs available as assets, even then downloads size might be too large 50 MB + to be conveinent.

OR

Is there an “engine” LR or web based, that can process and deliver hres compressed files to the web from RAW on the fly? Certainly one can export jpgs or other to local hd from within LR, then upload to server and link to paypal page, but that defeats the one source file mantra that I think we are all looking for.

Good job, look forward to seeing more.

Additionally, it would be nice to wrap a multiple file order into a .zip file for one button download after payment.

Other considerations, watermarks, copyright warnings, pull down licensing menus

Good job, look forward to seeing more. Thanks.

Is there anyway to be able to create an index page from folders in LR that would link to multiple gallery pages? I shoot images for WAKA Kickball (www.loveartonline.com) in Upstate, SC. But I also paint and shoot fine art. I was hoping to use LR to be able to have a index gallery like the one created by TTG called TTGGalleryIndex. Hoping it would allow me to select mulitple folders to create a kind of gallery folder index. But when selected it would link to the images that are in the various folders and only show those images.
Any idea?
